    A little paint and a barnyard-motif wallpaper border can transform a flea-market dresser into a charming piece of folk art.

    Materials:

    Dresser
    Wallpaper border in a barnyard motif
    Wallpaper primer
    Painter's tape
    Paintbrushes
    Latex paint in contrasting colors

    1. Remove the dresser hardware.

    2. Plan where the wallpaper will be applied, and paint the rest of the dresser in contrasting colors. Let dry.

    3. Mark the section on the front of each drawer where the wallpaper will go, mask these sections with painter's tape, apply wallpaper primer and allow to dry (figure A).

    4. If desired, cut-out figures of horses and cows can be applied to the wallpaper-primed sections on the sides of the dresser.

    5. Replace the hardware on the dresser.
