These nesting tables have seen their fair share of wear and tear. Sanding them down and giving them a new paint finish will give them a refreshing new look.A Gesso paint primer is the first coat, followed by a spicy red. The painters finish with a varnish mixed with black paint. This technique seals the tables and antiques them at the same time.
Materials:sanding stuff (tack cloth, masks, sand paper) 9 foam brushes white Gesso 1306 Habanero Pepper 2133-10 Onyx container and stir stick 1 quart satin varnish
1. Sand and wipe both tables 2. Using foam brushes for a smoother finish, brush on white Gesso tinted to 1306 Habanero Pepper. Let dry. 3. Using the same technique, brush on 1306 Habanero Pepper. Let dry. 4. Brush on glaze tinted with 2133-10 Onyx and rub into the surface with clean socks (cool tool!). Let dry. 5. Brush on satin varnish. Note: Leftover mismatched socks are great for polishing and glazing. Make sure theyre clean and "sock" them away for just such an occasion.
