Ugly white blinds? Not in this evolving tropical-style bedroom. The Fresh Coat team gives them a tropical flair, instead, by dry brushing them with a straw yellow color (figure A).. Then they add glaze in a rich brown wood color and drag the brush horizontally along the blinds to create a natural woven effect.Reveal: Manuel will bask in his new tropical retreat.
Materials:screwdrivers drop cloths masks X-I-M Clear Primer Rust-O-Leum Pale Yellow 1055 Algonquin Trail wide brushes small rollers small trays rough cleaning brush clear glaze container stir stick
1. Remove blinds from windows and lay outside. 2. Spray X-I-M Clear Primer. Let dry. 3. Spray Rust-O-Leum pale yellow (figure B ). Let dry. 4. Mix glaze with 1055 Algonquin Trail. 5. Brush or roll glaze all over blinds (figures C and D) and drag through horizontally with rough cleaning brush to create a rough straw effect. Let dry.
