    To start the calm and sophisticated paint job for Courtney and Manuel's island-style bedroom, the Fresh Coat team glazes a soft sky blue onto the ceiling to create an endless sky (figure A). Then they roll on a solid coat of neutral taupe to add instant serenity to this space.

    For the ceiling:

    Materials:

    ground cloths
    painter’s tape
    box brushes
    screwdrivers
    clear glaze
    Benjamin Moore HC-147 Woodlawn Blue
    container
    stir stick
    small trays
    6" rollers
    paper towels
    square brushes

    1. Lay down floor clothes and tape baseboards.
    2. Mix glaze with HC-147 Woodlawn Blue, mixing one part paint to three parts glaze (figure B).
    3. Roll on clear glaze 100 percent, then roll on Woodlawn Blue glaze (figure C).
    4. Blend with large brushes (figure D), wiping them occasionally with a cloth to keep them dry.

    Benjamin Moore HC-26 Monroe Bisque Matte Finish
    paint mugs
    angled brushes
    fluffy rollers
    large trays
    roller extenders
