The Fresh Coat painters give Danielle and Baird Connor's hand-me-down lamps (figure A) some exquisite Asian inspiration, making them look as if they've been created from Chinese urns. First, they spray a special primer (made for slick surfaces) on the glass lamps, then they use a spray gun to recolor them bright turquoise.Next, they decoupage the lamps with a cherry-blossom motif and finish with metallic gold details and a gentle black glaze for aging. Cool tool: The Spra-tool, a spray gun with a removable cartridge that allows you to fill it with the paint color of your choice. It also eliminates brush marks for a smooth-as-glass finish.
