Spanish Dining Room: Fireplace A fireplace surround in creamy white and black and white perspective lines make a fireplace a conversation piece. From "Fresh Coat" episode DFCT-301

There's a small tile hearth and covered fireplace at the center of the focal wall, so the Fresh Coat painters will play on that for some fun. Using levels and straight edges, they paint out a fireplace surround in creamy white and add structural detail with black and white perspective lines.

This conversation piece will be the perfect place for the small warm fire of candlelight....

Materials:

pencils and erasers
levels and straight edges
painters tape
dishes
water-soluble markers
2-inch rollers
Eggshell, 2026-70 (Benjamin Moore brand)

Figure B

1. Mark off design for fireplace using pencils, levels and dishes (figure A).
   
2. Paint overall shape with 2026-70 Eggshell.
   
3. Draw details with pencil.
   
4. Using water-soluble markers draw in the details and shadow lines (figure B).
