    To be successful, a workout room needs quite a bit of equipment and accessories. Only you can know precisely what you want in your personal exercise space, but in ours, Nancy Golden has rearranged the existing equipment and added some other useful accoutrements to make maximum use of the room.

    • Mirrors installed along one wall (figure A)

      Expert tip: If you think you might get tired of a mirrored wall, prop your mirrors rather than installing them. Then if you remove them, you won’t have to fill holes in the wall and repaint.

    • A wall-mounted television for entertainment as well as for watching exercise videos

    • A large cabinet for storage (figure B)

    • A straw hamper for dirty workout clothes and towels

    • Pillows (for times when you'd rather read than exercise)

    • A large galvanized tub to hold exercise mats (figure C) and a smaller one for water bottles

    • Plants and scented candles.

    Total time spent: 10 hours.
