To assemble, she simply screws the pieces together (figure B) in the order indicated by the manufacturer's instructions. (Tip: It's a good idea to have a plate or small bowl handy to hold all the hard-to-see pieces of the kit.) Depending on the type of cabinets you choose, you may also want to drill holes in the back to accommodate power cords and electronics.Expert tip: Open shelving is simple enough that you can adjust the size of the shelves to fit the objects you wish to store or display.
Expert tip: Where you place equipment is important: some people like to show off their electrical equipment and others like to hide it behind a door. If you're one of the latter, you can use an infrared kit, which allows you to operate electrical equipment with the storage-unit doors closed.
The finished cabinets fit the space perfectly (figure C) and sit well under the movie screen. The shelves provide plenty of storage, and the doors (figure D) keep everything well out of sight. Keep in mind when you shop for storage pieces that it's a good idea to have a written list of all the measurements of your electronics so that you won't be unpleasantly surprised by ending up with too little storage space!
