As with all decorating improvements, accessories make the room. To continue the gentlemen's club theme, Golden adds two leather chairs (figure A) as seating. The window treatments (figure B) are also dark, complete with wooden finials. The important thing to remember when accessorizing any room is to add things with meaning, not just arbitrary objects. Golden has done just that by filling the bookcases with some of the homeowners' personal belongings. The final architectural element is the wooden mantel (figure C), the centerpiece of the wall the leather chairs are facing. Mantels can be used and added to spaces even if no fireplace is in sight. This former study is now transformed into a warm, welcoming retreat that invites escape.
