Desiree Motamedi's sleep space needs a vanity and the Fresh Coat team obliges by turning the lower portion of her desk into a vanity (figure A) and moving it from the dining area to the bedroom space. They paint the piece a soft, muted green, with a cool application of Shimmer Stone applied to the desktop with a sponge. This creates a stone-like finish with nighttime sparkle, perfect drama for this uptown girl's vanity!

Materials:screwdrivers sand paper masks box brushes tack cloth Benjamin Moore 502 Grasslands tinted primer Benjamin Moore 502 Grasslands in satin finish Shimmer Stone Decorative Architectural Coating (Tintable Base + Color Concentrate in Wet Cement and Pebble Beach) square brushes 3 small trays 3 small containers stir sticks wide putty knives sponges cardboard MM Dead Flat Varnish
- Remove drawer pulls, sand and wipe clean (figure B).
- Brush and roll on 502 Grasslands tinted primer (figure C). Let dry.
- Tape off top, then brush and roll on the rest of 502 Grasslands Satin Finish. Let dry.
- Mix Shimmer Stone Decorative Architectural Coating with Color Concentrate in Wet Cement and trowel on a solid coat to the top (figures D and E). Let dry.
- Mix Shimmer Stone Decorative Architectural Coating with Color Concentrate in Pebble Beach. Sponge on creating an organic pattern (figure F). Let dry.
- Roll on MM dead flat varnish on top surface only.
- Reattach drawer pulls.
