    Figure B

Annie Kelley's historic home, Villa Vallambrosa, is decorated with flowing fabrics and carved furniture in a combination of French and Italian styling. Fortuny fabric from Italy, designed at the turn of the century, is used widely on furnishings and at the windows and ties in perfectly with the theme of the house, designed to look like a miniature Italian palazzo. An enclosed courtyard, typical of this style of villa, has a fountain and a fireplace and is home to parakeets (figure A).

The golden-hued master bedroom, with its flowing fabrics, patterned walls and chandelier, gives a true romantic Italian feeling (figure B). Mexican colonial paintings, collected during Annie's travels, add flavor to the room.
