Artist Jane Gottlieb has painted every room in her home a different color. Her garden alone features 15 of her favorite colors -- shades of lavender, pink, green, violet, yellow and blue (figure A). A mirrored garden wall doubles the color and the space of the small garden. The 4' by 5' mirrors were glued to the wall and sealed, then framed with simple wooden frames (figure B).

Inside her home a tall skylight makes the whole interior glow and provides perfect lighting for showing off her art -- photographs collaged and color-enhanced on a computer (figure C).

A grand view of the garden from the dining room brings in purples and blues, which reflect the colors of the dining room and blur the line between inside and out (figure D).

Ten to 12 colors fill the family room. Jane recommends starting with your favorite color and taking off from there. Her favorite pink was the starting point in the color-filled room, which includes multicolored furniture (figure E) and a custom-made matching rug.

Pinks to lavenders fill the living room (figure F) and change color with the changing light. Soothing blues and lavenders give the bedroom a restful feeling. To prevent color overload, she left some of the walls white and the windows clean and uncovered.
