The major portion of the project has been completed; in the remaining two hours, Nancy Golden adds black shelves (figure A) to complement the metallic finish on the walls; then she adds the finishing touches in the form of accessories.
Project time: 2 hours.Steps 1. Measure down from the ceiling 2' and mark a level line. 2. Mark the studs with a stud finder. 3. Install two L-brackets in the studs by first screwing in the top screw. Make sure both brackets are level and then secure the bottom two screws. 4. Place the box shelf on the brackets and hand-tighten the screws to secure. 5. Add two more shelves with a 12" gap in between. The color of the shelves blends into the wall completely. Expert tip: When screwing into a wall, cross short pieces of paper tape over the hole. This will protect your paint or wallpaper. Accessories: - Woven-vinyl roller shades (figure B).
