  • Entertaining Kitchen: Pantry Baskets
  • A trio of baskets gets a dose of color and the kitchen is complete!
    From "Fresh Coat"
    episode DFCT-212

The kitchen is almost finished: the walls, cabinets, island and pantry shelves are all freshly painted, and now it's time for the brightly colored finishing touches.

    face masks
spray paint: silver metallic, dark red and navy blue

    1. Natural woven pantry baskets are taken outside and painted with dark red, silver metallic and navy blue spray paint (figure A).

    2. When using spray paint, always wear protective face masks and hold the can at least 10" to 12" from the basket surface. For the best coverage, keep the can moving over the surface of the basket while painting.

While the baskets dry, the room is put back together. The old space did not live up to the personality of the home. Now the rooms flow together beautifully, making this home a great space to entertain—all accomplished for just $200 in paint (figure B) (figure C).
