    Frogs are great pets for children. They require little maintenance and are fun to play with!

    Frog Characteristics

    • Two bulging eyes and 3 eyelids on each eye!

    • Strong hind feet used for hopping

    • Smooth or slimy skin

    Toad Characteristics

    • Short legs for walking

    • Stubby bodies

    • Warty, dry skin

    • Poisonous glands

    Note: Frogs and toads are often confused and sometimes have characteristics of both types.

    How to get started:

    • A 10 gallon aquarium with a lid is suitable for most frogs. The larger sizes will need a bit more space.

    • Sphagnum moss-frogs need the moisture that it provides
