    pneumatic nail gun
    chalkboard paint
    paintbrush

    (2) 8 foot sticks of half-round decorative molding
    sheets of felt

    Dog Schoolhouse

    1. Start by ripping 2"x4" material in half for the materials needed to frame the house (figure A). Once 2"x4" material is ripped, cut this stock into the following lengths: four at 30" for the side walls of the frame, cut eight at 21", four will be used for corner posts and four are stretchers for the front and rear of the house. Cut four with 45-degree miters, and two at 27" long for the stretchers between the gables.

    2. Using screws, assemble the bottom frame and top frame and then attach the corner posts between the bottom and the top frame to bring it all together (figure B). Attach mitered parts at the front for the gables and complete the frame by attaching stretcher rails between gables.

    3. Measure and cut 1/8" plywood for the sides, front, back and roof: two pieces 24"x30" for the sides.

    4. Once all pieces are cut out, attach plywood panels to the frame with finish nails from the pneumatic nail gun. Once all of the pieces are attached, cut out the desired door in the front panel.

    5. Repeat the steps 1 through 4 at 1/3 scale for the assembly of the steeple. Omit the bottom frame and trace the front and back panels to fit over the roof.

    6. Paint roof using chalkboard paint. Measure and attach molding at corners and around the door. For the rest of the walls, attach felt with wood glue and a staple gun and enjoy (figure C)!
