11. Now onto the day bed (figure M). First, start by cutting all of your pieces needed. Two legs will be cut at 9" long and 2 legs at 12". Cut the stretchers, two at 12" and two at 14". You will also need to cut three rails at 24" long.12. After all of your pieces are cut, assemble and weld the sidewalls. You will need one 9" leg in front, one 12" leg in the back, a 12" stretcher 4" from the bottom of the legs to create the bed support and a 14" stretcher at the top to connect the 9" leg and 12" leg.
13. After both sidewalls are assembled and welded, use the three 24" rails to connect the two sidewalls. One will go between the tops of the 12" back legs, another between the back legs 4" up from the bottom and the third between the front legs 4" up from the bottom.
14. Use 1" wide steel flat stock running from the front to the back of the bed support. Weld them into place leaving about an inch between them.
15. Paint the daybed using an outdoor grade spray paint. A minimum of two coats is recommended. Place an outdoor dog bed or pillow on the bed supports.
