Dr. Karens Health Tips:There are so many choices for dog food (figure A), so how do you know which one to pick? Dr. Karen says: - Look at the foods label (figure B). You want one of the top three ingredients to be a meat product. Meat helps keep your dogs coat healthy and shiny.
- Choose a food that is for your dogs life stage. Your dogs life stage is based on its age and weight.
- Dry food is generally better than wet food for dogs. Canned foods are good for dogs that dont take in a lot of water.
- The different shapes of kibble are to please the human eye and dont affect the quality of the food (figure C).
- Changing brands of foods from time to time is a good idea to assure a healthy, well balanced diet.
