    Housebreaking Your Yorkie

    • Until your Yorkie is housebroken, she must not be allowed to roam freely in the house.

    • Feed her on a regular schedule.

    • Take her outside regularly, approximately every two hours, or whenever she gives signs of having to relieve herself.

    • Use praise when she relieves herself in the right spot.

Note: A Yorkie can be stubborn when it comes to housebreaking. Reward her when she behaves properly -- and be consistent.

Yorkies are a relatively healthy breed, but careless breeding can be a problem. Especially since Yorkies have only two or three puppies per litter, be sure to check out the breeder and the lineage.

Yorkies are bred to be companions. They are very people-oriented but not good for small children.
