Calico cats, a variation of the common shorthair, are characterized by their colors, specifically orange. Almost all are females: male calicos, which are genetic defects, usually live no more than a few days past birth. - Loving

Physical Characteristics - Long or short hair
- Varying face shapes
- Large, intensely colored eyes
- Random coloring -- black, brown or red, and white; patches, almost solid, etc, -- with at least one spot of orange
Notes: - Only calicos can have calicos.
- They are a very healthy breed.
