Bengal cats are a relatively new breed. First recognized as a distinct breed in 1984 by the International Cat Association, they are a cross between the Asian leopard cat and the domestic cat. The breed has retained the coloring, step and slight wild streak of the leopard cat. Personality Traits - Outgoing

Physical Appearance - Approximate weight: 11 to 18 pounds (males); 7 to 11 pounds (females)
- Small, pointed ears
- Triangular face
- Brick-red dot on nose
- Silver spot under chin
- Variety of colors.
- Two types of spots: marble-blurred (circular pattern); spotted (more defined).
