    Re-Covered Lampshade and No-Sew Runner

Kelly Keener shows Bob Denne how easy it is to update a room with no-sew projects. First, they re-cover a lampshade using fabric and glue; next, they make a tropical table runner using fabric and fusible tape. The runner is finished off with a tassel on each end.

    Materials:

fabric (we used Waverly #667730, Tiki Mist)
    scissors
    fabric glue
    lampshade
    chalk

    1. Lay the fabric facedown on your workspace. You may want to roll the lampshade across the fabric from seam to seam to ensure that you have enough fabric.

    2. Lay the lampshade on its side at the corner of the fabric. Roll the shade across the fabric, marking as you go. This will create the pattern. Cut accordingly.

    3. Put a beaded line of fabric glue at the seam of the lampshade and press the fabric in place. Wrap the fabric around the shade and put another beaded line of glue where the fabric will overlap. Press the fabric in place, folding the edges under for a cleaner look.

    4. Put a line of glue around the top inside rim of the shade, fold the fabric over and press in place. Repeat this process on the bottom of the shade. Trim any excess fabric.

    No-Sew Table Runner

    Materials:

fabric (we used Waverly #667760, Aloha Dune)
    scissors
    fusible tape
    iron
    ironing board
    chalk
    tassels

    1. Measure the fabric to the desired size, adding about 1" extra on all sides, and cut accordingly.

    2. Place the fabric face down on an ironing board. Line the fusible tape along the edge and fold the fabric over the tape to create a hem.

    3. Hold an iron on the edge of the fabric for about five to 10 seconds; this will cause the tape to bond. Repeat on all sides.

    4. For an added decorative element, glue tassels on the corners.
