    Most people wouldn't think of mice as the ideal pets, but they are very playful and low maintenance. White laboratory mice are albino, or unpigmented; their eyes appear pink because the blood is seen through them. The exotic African striped mouse uses his long tail to balance and is an avid nest builder.

    Personality Traits

    • Mice can be very tame and playful.

    • Females tend to get along; males are aggressive, however.

    • They like to shred paper and build nests.
