All you need to make a Wild West-inspired window treatment is lots of imagination and a trip to the tack store to buy spurs and rope. DIY Decorating & Design host Nancy Golden gives tips for adding cowboy style to your windows. Swag western-motif fabric over drapery panels of soft blue denim. Add spurs to the corners of the swag, and drape a few lengths of rope from spur to spur and down the swag (figure A). For a boy's room, use a toy tomahawk or an arrowhead as a window-swag decoration. For a more feminine look, tie up the corners with pretty ribbon or a length of soft leather (figure B). Make an easy, no-sew finish for denim by simply fringing the edges. Cut a piece of denim to size, loosen the first thread at the edge of the fabric with the point of a needle, and remove threads until the fringe is the desired length.
