    Figure C

    Materials (figure A):

Silk in 4 colors (aqua, green, lavender, tan)
    3/4" self-adhesive hook-and-loop tape cut into 4" pieces
    Lightweight fusible webbing
Iron-on transfer paper for inkjet printers
    4 buttons
    2 cups flaxseed
1/2 cup each dried peppermint, rosemary, lavender and eucalyptus
    Sewing machine
    Scissors
    Pinking shears
    Pins
    Thread

    1. Print these four words on the iron-on transfer paper, following instructions from the manufacturer. (Words need to be flipped to be a mirror image so they will come out straight when ironed on.) The four words are refresh, dream, soothe and energize.

    2. Cut a strip of fabric 4-1/4" x 24" from each piece of silk (figure B).

    3. Cut out each word from the transfer paper, allowing some space around the word.

    4. Place it horizontally 3-1/2" to 4" from the end of a strip of fabric and iron it onto the fabric (figure C), following the instructions on the transfer paper. The words and colors should be paired as follows:

      Refresh -- aqua
      Dream -- green
      Soothe -- lavender
      Energize -- tan.

    Cut 4 pieces fusible webbing 1-1/2" x 4-1/2".

    Cut 4 pieces fusible webbing 2-1/2" x 4-1/2".

Fuse the narrow strip of fusible webbing to the wrong side of one end of a piece of silk. Fold right side over 3/4" and press. Attach the stiff half of a piece of hook-and-loop tape to the front side of this silk. (The tape is stiff and the webbing acts as a reinforcement.)

Fuse the wider strip of fusible webbing to the other end of the silk, 1/2" from the end. Turn the 1/2" edging over the webbing and press. Fold the fused end back over the silk and pin, with right sides together.

Mark the center of the folded fabric and sew from the corners, where the fabric is folded over, to the center point. Cut away the outside triangles. When you turn the fabric right side out, you have a pointed end.

This is where you will sew a buttonhole.

Stick the soft side of the hook-and-loop tape just below the folded, pointed end of the fabric, on the wrong side.

Fold the strip of silk in half, right sides together, and line up the two halves of the hook-and-loop tape so they match. Sew down the two sides from the tape end to the fold. Turn right side out.

Mark and sew on the button.

Fill with 1/2 cup flaxseed (for weight) and 1 cup of dried herbs, as follows:

    Aqua -- peppermint
    Green -- rosemary
    Lavender -- lavender blossoms
    Tan -- eucalyptus.

    Close the hook-and-loop tape firmly.

Now it's time to place a pillow over your eyes, and refresh, dream, soothe or energize yourself.

Tip: For extra comfort, you can place the pillow in the freezer briefly to cool yourself, or microwave it for a warm experience.

Products: Iron-on transfer paper is available from office-supply stores. Herbs can be bought at grocery or health-food stores. Everything else is at your local fabric store.
