    Tips:

    • Illuminated light switches eliminate the problem of fumbling for switches in the dark. Use them in all of your night-entry areas for safety and convenience.

    • To avoid glare on your television's screen, be sure to place all lighting fixtures away from your favorite DIY-watching seat.

    • One of the easiest ways to maximize light in a room is with light colored floor covering and light colored paint on the walls and ceiling.

    • If you add an automatic opener to an existing garage door, be sure to disable the locking mechanism. Pulling against a locked garage door could damage the opener.

    • Shield your garage floor by brushing on a mixture of equal parts kerosene and boiled linseed oil. Make sure to start with a clean and dry concrete surface, and the coating will prevent oil stains.

    • Installing mirrors in the front and rear corners of your garage will allow you to visually check all of your vehicles' lights as you leave.
