    Floral Centerpieces

    Materials:

    Pillar candles
    Glass vases
    Roses
    Snap dragons
    Eucalyptus
    Floral foam
    Floral wire
    Cutting instrument
    Pins

    1. Use floral foam as a riser for your pillar candle. Place the pillar candle on blocks of floral foam and trace around it with a knife. Remove some of the foam with a knife and then work the candle down into the foam (figure A).

    2. Build each side of the foam starting with the greenery. Use pins to attach the greenery to the foam. Next, add some snap dragons (figure B). Then add the roses.

    3. Once you get the flowers in the glass vase, you may need to arrange them (figure C). Just use your eye to fix any bear spots or remove some flowers if they are too crowded.

    4. Place the candle in the foam and fill the vase with water.

Expert Tip: Judi Brockman, Floral Expert, says that if you are building an arrangement in a glass vase you want to make sure you have enough greenery on hand, whether it is from your garden or from the store. The greenery will help hold your flowers and help everything stay nicely in place for you.
