Beverly Archer is ready to welcome her friends to her open house. With all the preparatory work completed, she is now able to enjoy her efforts with her guests. Heidi Bohay highlights the features of Archer's lovely home. - Archer's husband has designed the backyard as an extension of the house (figure A). The two large outdoor rooms are excellent places to entertain in a relaxing atmosphere.
- When Archer asked her husband to build a permanent outdoor barbeque, she didn't quite expect the functioning kitchen that he produced (figure B). This outside room includes two burners and is a blessing in the summer when the inside kitchen tends to heat the house, which has no air-conditioning.
- Archer designed her garden to be strictly practical for her culinary and decorative purposes. All her plants are used in the kitchen and for her craft projects.
- Her shed has plenty of work space and is fragranced with herbs that hang from the ceiling (figure C). This is the place where she plays, creating wreaths, potpourri and presents for her friends and loved ones.
