Materials:
3 x 6 gold pillar candles Red beads and rhinestones 3 iron candle prick holders 2 dozen red roses and lemon leaves spray painted gold Ivy Hot glue gun Glue sticks Floral foam Floral tape Ivy Jewelry glue Jewelry wire Toothpicks Earring posts - Cut a 20-inch piece of jewelry wire. String the red beads onto the wire (figure A).
- Make the post with teardrop shaped beads. Glue the rhinestones to the earring post and then run jewelry wire through the beads and twist it off at the top. Attach the wire to the earring post (figure B).
- Insert the post into the candle (figure C). Insert the posts equal distances around the candle.
- Swag the beads between the posts (figure D).
Note: You can also use hot glue to glue something else onto the candle -- just make sure it is same color. - Set each candle on a piece of floral foam and cut around it. Position the foam onto the candle holder and then hot glue the candle to the foam (figure E).
- Snip the roses leaving about 1 inch of the stem and then insert them into the foam, also insert ivy in between the roses. Embellish around the candle holder stem with ivy and tape a rose to the center of the stem of the candle holder (figure F).
Expert Tip: When figuring the gauge of wire, remember fractions. The larger the denominator -- or the number on the bottom -- the smaller the amount. So in wire gauges, the higher the number the smaller the wire. Expert Tip: If you are arranging roses for a pair of centerpieces, the main thing you want to do is give the impact to the roses, whether you're using all red, all monochromatic, or you're using an assortment of colors. But you do want to use some filler with those, because fillers will make the roses stand out and really make a good presentation for you.
