    Invitations

    Materials:

    5 small bottles with corks
    Parchment paper
    Gold metallic pen
    Grape cluster rubber stamp
    2 different colors craft paint
    Tacky glue
    Small plastic grape clusters
    Ribbon
    Copper wire
    Wire cutters

    1. Cut the parchment paper into 2 pieces and snip the edges (figure A).

    2. Use a gold metallic pen to draw a grapevine-like motif around the edge of the invitation.

    3. Rubber stamps are great for embellishing the invitations and can be purchased at most craft stores. We used a cluster of grapes stamp. Apply 2 different colors of paint with a paint brush onto the rubber stamp (figure B).

    4. Stamp the grape design in one corner of the invitation and use a gold metallic pen to write the party information within the border (figure C).

    5. Use the same parchment paper to create labels for the outside of the bottles. You can use the opposite end of the paintbrush to make a small cluster of grapes on the label.

    6. Paint some tacky glue onto the label and then affix the label to the bottle ( figure D).

    7. Attach a small bunch of plastic grapes with copper wire around the neck of the bottle.

    8. Roll up the invitation so that it will fit into the bottle. Tie a ribbon around the rolled up invitation. Insert the invitation into the bottle, letting an end of the ribbon hang out so that the guests will be able to pull the invitation out of the bottle (figure E).

Expert Tip: Marc Friedland, Image Expert, says that when it comes to an invitation, do not think that it has to be a flat piece of paper -- it could be dimensional, it could be an object, etc. It could be anything that your mind imagines.
