    Materials:

2 sets of aprons in 4 varying colors
Chef hats in colors that coordinate with the aprons
    Spray fabric paint
    Puffy paint
    Permanent marker

    1. Use spray fabric paint to spray your hats to match the aprons. Let them dry for 1 hour.

    2. Think of names for each of your teams. We used "Grill Zillas," "Power Burgers," "Ole' Smoking" Coals," and "Mesquite Masters."

    3. With the puffy paint, write the team names on the hats ( figure A) and then set them aside to dry.

    4. On the aprons, draw a design for each team (figure B) that will match their name, and then let the aprons dry for an hour.

Expert Tip: Kristi Lawlor, Craft Expert for JoAnn, Etc. says that puffy paint is a paint that you apply directly from the bottle using the small tip. The paint expands when it is applied. When you use puffy paint, you need to play with it a little so you will know how much it will expand to make sure your design is going to be appropriate.

Expert Tip: Marc Friedland, Image Expert, says that it has been a long-standing tradition to have favors at a party (figure C). You can have fun with the favors. They do not all have to be the same. If you are using a theme, they can be different types of objects from things you can find at the flea market, etc. They are just fun, wacky gifts you give to your guests that tie into the theme of your party.
