Whatever your theme is, go to a thrift store and pick up items that work with the theme. Place the items in a grab bag for your guests (figure A) in case they show up without costumes, or they just want to embellish what they have on.
Expert Tips: - Garry Lennon, Costume Designer, says that a good source for '80's research would be movies from that period. Or find somebody that graduated high school and look at their yearbook for a good place to start. A place for vintage '80s clothing would be a thrift store or a vintage store in your area. Also keep in mind album covers from the period -- they will give you insight as to what they were wearing.
- Jorge Lopez, Technical "Wow" Director, says that when you are planning your karaoke party and you are getting the karaoke equipment, keep in mind what kind of music you are getting. If your theme is an '80's theme, make sure it has plenty of those types of songs. It will help you garnish the theme at your party.
