    Materials:

    Battery operated micro pump
    Tubing
    Slate
    Hammer
    Bowls
    Rocks
    Polished stones
    Museum wax
    Scissors

    1. The battery pack for the micro pump has an on and off switch. The micro pump has an adapter valve so you can use smaller diameter of tubing (figure A). A wider diameter may cause the water to splash all over your food, so you want to keep it nice and contained. The hardest part is finagling the tubing into the pump, which will be the spiller (fountain's faucet).

    2. Place the larger bowl on the bottom, then add flat pieces of slate and place a smaller bowl on top. The smaller bowl is your reservoir bowl.

    3. Once you have secured the tubing to the pump, place the pump in the reservoir bowl. Then, cover the pump with some rocks.

Note: Polished rocks can be purchased at a hobby shop or a craft store.

    4. Use slate pieces to create a platform for the spiller bowl (figure B).

    5. Use a small terra pot for the spiller. Feed the tube through the pot (figure C) and then test the pump by filling the reservoir bowl with water.

    6. Once it is working properly, snip the tubing to fit your fountain (figure D) and then use museum wax to hold the tubing in place. Use more museum wax on some rocks to cover the plastic tubing.

    7. Fill the bottom bowl with water (figure E), a few rocks and some orchids. Even though the bottom bowl isn't hooked up to the water pump, it gives the illusion of a three tiered fountain.
