How many times have you needed an easy, space-saving way to store leftovers? Well, Ask DIY food expert Paul Sturkey shows you one great option with this quick tip! - Pour leftover portions of soup into self-sealing plastic bags (be sure to buy a brand with reliable self-sealing closure). Fill each bag about half-full, then press as much air out of the bag as possible. Seal it carefully, then lay it flat in the freezer so that it freezes in a thin layer. Once it's frozen, you can turn it vertically for space-saving storage.
- Freezing in this fashion also makes the soup easy to thaw: Simply immerse the bag in a pan of gently boiling water and in about two minutes, it's ready to serve. And best of all, you'll have perfectly proportioned single servings... with no leftovers!
