All in Good Taste has some fun ideas for serving salad.

    • Serve Caesar salad in stemmed bowls. Dip the rim of each bowl in cold water and then in rough salt. Add greens, drizzle on dressing and top with croutons and Parmesan cheese (figure A).

    • It's easy to make your own homemade croutons. You just need 1 loaf of stale French bread cut into cubes, 4 cloves pressed garlic and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Just toss all ingredients together and drizzle with 1/4 cup olive oil. Spread out on a baking pan (figure B) and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes.

    • Here's a creative fruit salad idea: turn a berry basket upside down, mold a piece of aluminum foil around it and use it to line the basket. Place Romaine or other lettuce of your choice around the perimeter and top with chunks of fruit. For a great yogurt dressing, add 1/2 pint fresh washed blueberries to 1 cup plain yogurt; stir and drizzle over the fruit salad. Garnish with additional blueberries (figure C).

    • For an attractive coleslaw presentation, slice the top off a head of cabbage and hollow out the inside to make a hollow bowl (be sure to leave a sufficient amount of wall space so that your bowl won't collapse). Fill with coleslaw and garnish with shredded carrots (figure D).

We at DIY believe all of the recipes from All in Good Taste are accurate and reliable, but since we have not tested them personally, we can claim no responsibility if the desired results are not achieved.
