With their newly installed grill in place and ready to go, the Waters host a backyard barbecue feast! The couple is joined by a special guest, executive chef Blake Hartwick, who shows host April Adams a couple great ways to jazz up boring burgers and brats. Ground steak burgers get a dose of tasty garlic, while beer-boiling gives a savory flavor to the brats. Soon after, the rest of the Waters' guests arrive and enjoy the fruits of Scott and Susan's hard work. At the end of the evening, the kids enjoy roasting marshmallows over the open flames, then enjoy a big batch of s'mores! Final Recap and Tips
- For kicked-up burgers, try grinding up skirt steak instead of traditional beef. (It gives burgers a beefier flavor.)
- For perfect patties, scoop out four or five ounces of ground steak, then roll the meat between both hands until it forms a nice ball. Gently press the ball together until it's flattened.
- Boil bratwurst in water or beer prior to grilling. Boiling the brats will infuse them with flavor and will cook the inside, while grilling will add a beautiful brown crust on the outside.
