    Terrific Bread Basket Gift Idea

Here'a a great gift idea that lets you share your sourdough starter: line a picnic basket with a napkin, add some natural-color straw and place a jar of sourdough starter tied with a ribbon in the basket. (You can also place the dry sourdough bread ingredients in a plastic bag, tie with a ribbon and tuck inside a decorative tin -- a recipe- or food-themed tin is especially nice.)

If you wish, add a couple of jars of jam (place small doilies on the tops of the jars and tie with raffia bows). Add a framed copy of your sourdough-bread recipe. One optional item: a small little clay pot of herbs. For a final touch, place a few dried roses around the straw. This makes a useful gift that the recipient will appreciate.

We at DIY believe all of the recipes from All in Good Taste are accurate and reliable, but since we have not tested them personally, we can claim no responsibility if the desired results are not achieved.
