    Hawaiian Shrimp and Fruit Kebab

    Ingredients for Marinade:

    1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
    3 cloves garlic, peeled
    Juice of 1 lime
    2 Tbs. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. paprika

    Ingredients for Kebabs:

    2 star fruit
    1 firm, ripe papaya
24 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    Bamboo skewers

    Preparation for Marinade:

In a blender, combine jalapeno, peeled garlic, lime juice, vegetable oil and paprika and blend well.

    Preparation for Kebabs:

Cut the star fruit crossways into star shapes (they act as a base for the kebabs). Cut the papaya in half lengthwise, peel it and cut into 1" chunks. Starting with a star, thread fruit and shrimp alternately on skewers. Brush with marinade and refrigerate, occasionally reapplying marinade. Cook on grill or under the broiler of your oven.

Be careful not to overcook the kebabs -- usually 3 minutes on each side is sufficient.

We at DIY believe all of the recipes from All in Good Taste are accurate and reliable, but since we have not tested them personally, we can claim no responsibility if the desired results are not achieved.
