One idea is to take the covers that you can buy and decorate yours so that is will be easy to identify from others (figure A).

To make a more stable surface to draw on, place your casserole dish and a couple of magazines on top of that in the cover first. There is a fun casserole cozy you can make. You will need 2 pieces of fabric, the first piece being quilted and the other a piece of canvas. You need to cut the canvas piece 2 inches larger than the quilted piece (figure B).

You need a roll of the iron-on fabric adhesive. Cut out 3 strips and place them diagonally between the quilted piece and the canvas piece. Iron the quilted piece until the adhesive sticks. Take 4 pieces of the adhesive and cut into 1-inch strips. Place a strip at each corner and fold over and press into place (figure C).

Then fold the sides over and press them. Pinch the 2 sides together at each corner (figure D ) and insert a straight pin and then mark where the pin is with a magic marker.

Install a grommet on each side and then insert a tie (figure E) and tie a pretty bow on each corner.

One last idea is to take material that is larger than your dish and tie the opposite corners in a knot and it will give you a nice little handle to carry the casserole dish (figure F).
