    Fett'unta

Note: Fett'unta (Feh-toonta) is bread with garlic, olive oil and salt.

    Ingredients:

1 loaf French bread, day old, sliced into 1/2-inch thick slices
    3 cloves garlic
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, preferably an intense fruity oil that is green in color
    Kosher salt

    Preparation:

Toast or grill 1 loaf of day old French bread and slice into 1/2 inch thick slices. Lightly rub 3 cloves of garlic on the toasted bread. Lightly pour 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil over each slice of bread. Sprinkle Kosher salt over each slice of bread.

    Serves: 4 to 6

    Chef's Notes:

    • This bread makes great appetizers.

    • Another version of bread for appetizers is called Pa'Amb, which means bread with tomatoes and oil. Follow the exact same directions as for the Fett'unta except you cut a small slice off the side of a ripe tomato and rub it lightly over bread slices instead of the garlic. Allow tomato, skin and juices to soak into bread a few moments. Lightly pour 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil over the bread. Sprinkle with Kosher salt.

We at DIY believe all of the recipes from All in Good Taste are accurate and reliable, but since we have not tested them personally, we can claim no responsibility if the desired results are not achieved.
