    6. Using a foam brush, paint the taped-off border with a bright, contrasting paint. Allow the paint to dry.

    7. Choose a saying such as "Hot & Fresh," "Tea Time " or "Get Perky" and select the corresponding chipboard letters. Paint each letter with craft paint and allow each to dry. Sand the edges of the letters to create a weathered look (figure E).

    8. Apply the chipboard letters with E6000 glue, using a bamboo skewer to carefully apply the glue (figure F). Allow the sign to dry.

    9. Using a 2" brush and/or a stipple brush, tap on gold craft paint sparingly, just to barely stipple the perimeter of the sign and give it an antiqued effect.

    10. Use a craft hammer and nail to punch small holes on either upper edge of the sign (figure G). Thread and knot a waxed thread through each hole to create a hanger.
