Tile can be purely decorative as well as functional. DIY Decorating & Design host Nancy Golden uses an attractive tile in an unusual way, by turning it into a clock. Materials:
Tile Clock-movement kit Drill Glass and tile bit Safety glasses - A clock-movement kit comes with all the necessary elements for turning almost anything into a clock (figure A). Choose one with a shaft length appropriate for the thickness of the tile (figure B).
- Put on safety glasses. Using a glass and tile bit, drill a hole through the tile to accommodate the shaft of the clock movement (figure C).
- Insert the shaft of the clock movement into the tile from the back (figure D), and assemble the clock face on the front.
