A glue gun is an essential tool for crafters. Here are a couple of hot-glue tips:

• If you make a mistake with hot glue in your project and the glue has hardened, you can soften the glue back up by placing your item on a sheet of waxed paper and sticking it in the microwave for a few seconds. The glue should soften enough to allow you to correct your mistake.

  Important: Do NOT place metal or metallic items in the microwave.

  
  

• If you burn your fingers using hot glue, a bowl of ice water nearby can provide some instant relief.
