    Materials:

Clear vinyl shower curtain and plastic shower hooks
    Paint pens
    Craft foam
    Scissors
    Pencil
    Paint and brushes
    Plastic plates
    Low-temp hot glue
    Stencils

    1. Cover the work surface with newspaper and spread your clear shower curtain flat. (It may help to work on the floor.)

    2. Draw a freehand design or trace stencil shapes on the curtain with paint pens. If you use stencils, you can make your own from plain paper! Draw your design on paper, keeping it simple and large. Cut out your shape and trace it on your curtain (figure A). Color in design.

    3. Cut decorative shapes out of the craft foam to add to your design. Hot-glue the shapes to the curtain (figure B).

    Tips:

    • Always have an adult around when using a glue gun.

    • Use only low-temperature glue when adding 3-D decorations, and use only a dab. A high-temperature gun or an excessive amount of glue may melt your shower curtain.

    • We really liked using the paint pens for this project, but acrylic paint will do if you don't have paint pens.

    • Be creative and cover the entire curtain with your design. Try decorating your shower hooks too (figure C), if you like.

All products can be purchased at art, craft, or all-purpose stores nationwide.
