To make the reflector vest, use a colorful T-shirt and just add reflective stickers; even plastic disks work. It will help you to be seen when riding your bike.

For our seatbelt cover, use soft, fuzzy material, add some Velcro and top it off with decorations.

Safety tip: Always keep safety in mind when you're using scissors and hot glue, and please have an adult present.

    Materials (Reflector Vest):

    Brightly colored T-shirt
    Reflectors (tape or plastic discs)
    Scissors
    Hot glue
    VelcroB.
    Optional: iron-on seam tape

    1. Cut the arms off your T-shirt.

    2. Cut down the middle of the shirt's front, from the neck to the bottom edge (figure A). Leave your edges unfinished for a "rolled" look, or if you prefer, use iron-on seam tape to press the edges under for a "neater" look.

    3. Cut reflective stickers into shapes and hot-glue to shirt in a pattern of your choice. Also hot-glue small plastic reflectors in patterns (figure B).

    4. Wash in cold water on the gentle cycle and then HANG to dry -- don't put it in the dryer!

    Materials (Seatbelt Cover):

    Hot glue gun
Fabric -- fuzzy or soft material
    Felt, googlie eyes, other knickknacks
    Pen
    Craft foam
    Scissors
    Ruler
    Velcro strips

    1. Measure and cut fabric about 10 inches by 8 inches wide.

    2. Cut two pieces of Velcro (figure C) about 2 inches in length.

    3. Hot-glue Velcro to two inside edges.

    4. Using hot glue, decorate with eyeballs and optional decorations: glitter, craft-foam shapes or puffy paint (figure D).

    5. Wrap around seatbelt strap and Velcro to secure.

Products: All products can be found at craft or all-purpose stores nationwide.
