    To keep rabbits out of your vegetable garden, make a brew of beef liver, stashed in cheesecloth so you don't have to touch it, and then soaked in hot water for a couple of hours (figure A). Put the strained liquid in a spray bottle to mist on plants such as lettuce and green beans. You can refrigerate the leftovers. Other ways to battle rabbits: sprinkle black pepper or blood meal around the garden, or leave out pieces of garden hose -- if you move them around often enough, the rabbits will think they're snakes.
