    Topics covered on today's episode:

Replacing a roof with a more attractive one

Fixing a leak in a sunroom roof

    Installing skylights

    Cleaning a roof

    Redoing siding

Removing tape gunk from aluminum siding

Examples of types of house wrap

    Perking up vinyl siding

    Repairing synthetic stucco siding

    Painting vinyl siding

    Installing a wall safe

    Tips:

    • Grind together two halves of a matching asphalt shingle and gather the granules. Lay out a bed of 100 percent silicone caulk and sprinkle on the granules for invisible roofing repairs.

    • Hook a protruding nail into the slot in the end of your tape measure to make accurate measurements when working solo.

    • If you're pulling a nail and the head pops off, grip the nail securely with locking pliers, then pull against the nail with the head of the hammer.

    • Keep the sharp end of your Exacto knife in a florist tube to protect your fingers and fragile blades.

    • Magnets attached to the sides of your ladder will give you an extra hand with small metal parts.

    • Reversing the parts of a clothespin will make it grip tightly at its end and become helpful for many small projects.
