    Tips

    • Mark common depths on the blade-guard to quickly set the cutting depth on your circular saw. Align the saw's sole plate with the appropriate mark, and you're ready to go!

    • Improving your home's insulation is one of the most cost-effective ways to reduce energy consumption. In addition to cost savings, proper insulation will reduce the amount of pollution your home emits.

    • Before installing insulation directly under your roof, be sure to install plastic baffles against the underside of the roof to allow for proper airflow.

    • A reversible fan installed in the attic will bring in cool night air and expel warm daytime air. This will save energy if you have an air-conditioned house.

    • Be sure to keep attic insulation at least 3 inches away form stovepipes, metal chimneys and heat-producing electrical devices.
