    Materials:

    chalk line
    interlocking floor tile w/underlayment
    tape measure
    pencil
    utility knife
    tape
    jigsaw
    circular saw
    clamp
    speed square

    Interlocking Floor Tile

    1. Dry fit the tiles to determine the layout (figure A).

    2. Spread out the underlayment, shiny-side down (figure B). Pull it tight to the edges and cut off the excess with a utility knife.

    3. The next piece of underlayment goes right next to the first. Make slits in the material to go around objects such as plumbing stubs. Continue until entire floor is covered.

    4. Tape around the edges to keep the mat from moving (figure C).

    5. Start laying the tile with two full pieces against the wall. The edges will eventually be covered with base molding, so a small gap is fine (figure D).

    6. Measure the tile to determine what types of cuts you will need to fit the room.

    7. Cut to the desired tile size with a circular saw.

    8. Snap cut piece of tile in to complete first row (figure E).

    9. Begin second row, staggering the seams for added strength (figure F).

    10. For angles and curves, cut tiles using a jigsaw.
