    Materials:

    reciprocating saw
    keyhole saw
    utility knife
    tape
    wax pencil
    hole saw

    Tubular Skylight Installation

    1. Find a location to install the skylight.

    2. With an 18" wood drill bit, drill through the ceiling into the attic space (figure A).

    3. With a reciprocating saw, cut a square in the floorboards to expose the drywall (figure B).

    4. Using three large nails, mark your place when you go outside (six inches away from the truss, then right next to the truss). This will mark where the skylight will exit the home. Hammer into the roof (figure C).

    5. Tape the template to the ceiling. Using a utility knife, cut out the template (figure D).

    6. Using a keyhole saw, cut out the template.

    7. Feed the 4" insulated flexible duct through the hole (figure E).

    8. Attach the ceiling plate to the drywall with the provided screws (figure F).

    9. On the roof, look for the three nails. Push the nails back into the house and set the flashing in place and trace around the opening with a wax pencil (figure G).

    10. Place the vent cap over the second marked nail and score and remove the shingles (figure H).

    11. Using a hole saw, drill a hole for the vent cap (figure I).

    12. Using a reciprocating saw, cut a hole for the flashing (figure J).

    13. Flip over the flashing and place silicon sealant on the flashing.

    14. Adhere it to the roof of the house.
